Cocoa Butter and Anti aging Skin Repair

Cocoa Butter:

Botanical Name- Theobroma cacao

Origin- Africa

Extraction- Expeller Pressed/Refined from Cocoa Beans

Shelf life- Approx. 3 year if stored in a cool dark place

Raw Cocoa is a hard, light yellow butter with a light chocolate-like odour. It has healing and moisturizing qualities which have made it very popular in the making of lotions, soaps, moisturisers and lip balms, often as a thickening agent. It is very emollient and protective for skin while making the soap solid and dense in form.

It contains antioxidants and is naturally rich in Vitamin E which assists in anti-aging, and scar tissue health as well as containing cocoa mass polyphenol (CMP). This is a substance that inhibits the production of immunoglobulin IgE’s which aggravates symptoms of both dermatitis and asthma. So it’s like an antibody to allergies!

Cocoa butter is rich in antioxidants including oleic acid, palmitic acid, and stearic acid. These fatty acids actually are a benefit to your skin, because they will provide a layer of protection from skin stressors and free radicals. This helps to slow to process of aging while acting as a mild sunscreen. Your skin will look healthier from day one. Because this will also slow the development of wrinkles, you will reap the benefits for years to come.

Skin Healer

Weather, hormones, and seasons of life all impact the health of our skin. Cocoa butter is a gentle and non-toxic option to help reverse the numerous signs of life. Almost any pregnant woman will tell you that she has heard of or tried cocoa butter for stretch marks. While, there may be no complete, proven cure, women boldly testify of positive results. The previously mentioned antioxidants also work to lighten age spots, to even skin tone, and to reduce scars. Some people have even recommended cocoa butter as a natural healer for those with sensitive skin or skin irritations such as eczema and dermatitis. Using cocoa butter is an easy way to replace commercial ointments and creams that are generally loaded with harmful chemicals.

It can be used in the treatment of dry lips or skin, wrinkles and sun damage, It has many anti-aging properties but is also beneficial to minor burns and other skin irritations or complains.

So that’s why it’s in most of my soaps and most of my healing balms. 😉

It’s Completely WONDERFUL!

Magnesium Essentials

Whilst researching this life changing mineral, Magnesium Chloride,
(MgCl2) , I discovered in depth, the efficiency of each carrier containing the Magnesium and it’s absorption levels via human skin.

A recent pilot study set out to determine whether magnesium in a cream could be absorbed transdermally in humans to improve magnesium status. Current formulations include magnesium oils and transdermal creams, from which the magnesium may be absorbed across the skin and into the systemic circulation.

Extensive studies of the Israel army with a magnesium-containing skin protectant cream (IB1) showed that magnesium is not absorbed through the skin…

…compared to the lipophilic nature of a water and oil emulsion (lotion/Cream), Such as Aromatic Essentials brand – Magnesium Essentials. To discover why this brand is the best learn more…

The 34 subjects administered 10 mL of magnesium-rich lotion or placebo lotion three times daily over a period of three days.

The study tested the safety of repeated applications, including ruling out the transdermal permeation of magnesium, which may lead to a dangerous blood magnesium level, since the lotion contains magnesium sulphate. Other objectives included the detection of dermatological adverse effects, the assessment of application convenience, and the effect on daily activities.

The topical skin protectant lotion (IB1) containing magnesium was tested in a human study. Preclinical studies in several animal models have proven the protective efficacy of IB1. In a randomized, placebo-controlled phase I clinical study it was examined whether a magnesium-rich lotion, after repeated topical application, leads to changes in serum magnesium concentrations in 34 healthy volunteers.

Importantly, no serious adverse effects were recorded and the lotion did not interfere with daily tasks. There were no significant differences in magnesium levels between the placebo and the study groups in any of the applications. No toxic levels of magnesium were found in either group.

To realise why this brand is the best learn more…

Magnesium Chloride (MgCl2 ) formulated in cream compared to MgCl2 in solution.

The transdermal permeation efficiency of magnesium from MgCl2 Cream1 and MgCl2 cream2 was studied across skin compared to the positive control MgCl2 water solution and the negative control phosphate buffer solution. The cream or solution equivalent to 2.76 mg of magnesium was applied per 2.52 cm2 of skin.

Samples were collected after 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 24 hours and analyzed. The experiments were performed in triplicates. The results were analyzed using unpaired
t-test. The cumulative magnesium permeation from magnesium Cream1 was 29.79 ± 13.92.

Magnesium cream II, was 24.53 ± 9.98

Magnesium Oil/Water solution, and phosphate buffer across human skin after 24 h were found to be 6.18 ± 1.36, and 5.62 ± 1.83 respectively.

This study showed that a magnesium cream leads to statistically significant magnesium permeation compared with the two control solutions; Magnesium cream1 showed greater magnesium permeation than all other methods of topical application.

A formulated magnesium cream was able to successfully deliver the magnesium of pharmaceutical grade MgCl2 across human skin.

Transdermal magnesium may play an important role treating symptoms of sub-optimal magnesium status. However, further in vitro and animal studies are warranted to establish the efficacy of varying formulations [21].

Nothing is hidden!

  • Peace of mind
  • No animals are tested and the herbal supplier is Verified Animal Cruelty Free
  • Honest and ethical business concerned and passionate about making a difference to your life and the life of innocent wildlife
  • No hidden Palm oil in any ingredients either

Palm oil
is used in almost all commercial soaps, and in far too many soaps titled “Natural” yet it has very little beneficial value to your skin or health, and is thought to be nothing more than a cheap filler. To the consumers perhaps, but at the exorbitant price of native animal extinction?  Palm oil is causing deforestation and widespread genocide of native orangutans and I refuse to use any palm oil derivatives in any of my products. Many people may say they don’t use palm oil but then keep using regular emulsifying wax and activated charcoal. I have replaced all items using derivatives of palm! If you would like to learn more on this devastating Palm Oil problem go here.   Read more on why you should say No to Palm Oil!

No Animal Fats
Rendered beef tallow, pig fat, deer, sheep, all still used by many soap makers and skin care manufacturers worldwide.

I use 100% Natural Cold pressed plant oils and Butters (at least 7 in my soaps).

Organic Ingredients
Aromatic Essential skincare products are increasing the organic percentages continually. I always use organic herbs for infusions and extracts, which are in all products for additional nutrients. I do this for every batch of soap too.
Organic is used whenever possible and contained in most of Aromatic Essentials skin care products.

No nasty chemicals are added to any products. NO Parabens, Sulfurs, Petroleum, Mineral oils, SLS, Pesticide laden Soy, or anything not originating from the earth. NO alcohol in anything unless it’s a perfume.

Committed to Caring

Aromatic Essentials tries to make a difference in the areas concerning the Earth and it’s beautiful creatures who share it with us. Orangutans and Deforestation, Eco aware, thorough researching of ingredients, and of course the Result! The improvement it has made to your life in any way, that’s what I’m here to do. Please provide feedback on any products you try.

Less than perfect looking soaps will be donated to a worthwhile organisation in need. The ends of the soap batch disappear quicker than I can make them! I do set aside a few here and there, just to give. I wish to give to Women’s refuges and care facilities some of the best soap they will ever experience.  Please contact me if this applies to you.

Healing, love and light and blessings your way. Thank you! Always.

Profit Margins, Certifications

It’s been such a busy time. I decided, when I wasn’t busy, to apply for certification for 100% Vegan and also Palm oil free, (I have cruelty free certification currently). It’s very thorough the Vegan Cert. I was even asked for the ingredients for a salt lamp! I thought I had researched extensively and was a shoe in. Some of the ingredients queried had me dumbfounded. Apple Cider vinegar. Activated charcoal. Castile soap, (which only contains organic local olive oil), and others that you wouldn’t even doubt…Just those few are dragging it on and on. It’s good that In the end I at least, will know what 100%Vegan Certification means.

I think What’s inside is what counts, but that’s coming from a manufacturers perspective. Just my luck to be so creative and have hundreds of ingredients. (Wishing I’d done a cull, of lesser products I rarely make.) I’ll have to do this sometime because Palm oil free certificationcosts ALLOT and it’s for EACH product.

Being not for profit, doesn’t do me justice in these matters. Lol.

Palm oil free is a GO!!! Now just to decide which products will proudly display the symbol cos I can only afford a few 🙂 Which brings me to ponder this..What are your thoughts on paying 70% more for a same quality product for

1. The packaging

2. Registration fees for assurances like these

3. Normal profit margin?

If my product costs $15 to make and I sell it for $18.50, (because I’m doing it to help others), and someone else sells it for $48.50, (well, cos they do it for the money- it’s a business). Is that something that’s important to you?

Often consider this too; Is that plastic bag and pretty, professional looking box satisfying enough to warrant your hard earned money? Are you happy to pay more for products because they have Certificates?
